Just as Wagyu beef is a national treasure in Japan, at Southern Cross Ranch, we’re committed to producing the best of the breed.
We know that not all Wagyu is created equal, so we work hard to combine elite genetics to produce a superior herd. Our fullblood Wagyu are registered with the American Wagyu Association, with lineage tracing back to Japan.
We raise our Wagyu on high quality pasture in Northern California that provides the perfect nutrition and climate for producing healthy cattle.
Our dedication to true quality is how we’re able to consistently provide premium Wagyu with all of its hallmarks, from fine-grained marbling to melt-in-your-mouth flavor.
Our family cares deeply about providing a farm to table experience that produces All Natural Wagyu beef, sustainably raised in the USA. We never administer growth hormones or sub therapeutic antibiotics. Ever. With full knowledge of how and where we raise our cattle from start to finish, you can rest easy knowing you and your family are enjoying beef of the highest quality, inspected by the USDA. From breeding and calving, to feeding and harvesting, we personally oversee every single step on the way, ensuring the herd is humanely raised and finished. The beef we offer to our consumers is the same quality wagyu beef that we produce for our family.
While the dining experience of Wagyu beef is truly exceptional, there are also many impressive health benefits that are unique to Wagyu. The marbling in Wagyu beef is rich in Oleic Acid, a monounsaturated Omega-9 fatty acid that is found in olive oil and is considered to be beneficial in the prevention of heart disease and diabetes. Oleic acid has also been linked to promoting a healthy immune system, vitamin absorption and antioxidant development. Additionally, Wagyu has the lowest levels of Cholesterol than any other meat, per 100 grams only 10 mg of cholesterol in Wagyu verses 28 mg found in fish. Wagyu beef is also high in Omega 3 and 6 and is often compared to Salmon as one of the healthiest meat proteins available.
Spanning three generations and fueled by a passion to produce premium Wagyu outside of Japan, our family began with a purebred herd in 1992 and only continued to refine it moving forward. This vision of raising great Wagyu, combined with over 60 years in the cattle industry, was the inspiration for us to establish Southern Cross Ranch Wagyu here in the USA. Now, our family’s mission is simple: Combine hard work and integrity with the very best Wagyu cattle to provide each and every one of our customers with an extraordinary and healthy beef experience.
